Located on Bellevue Avenue and originally built in 1896 "Wayside" was the home of Elisha Dyer,IV who was a prominent member of the Exclusive "Four Hundred" of New York and Newport Society and also a descendent of Roger Williams, founder of the Rhode Island Colony.Well preserved, the property maintains much of its glorious original detail including soaring ceiling heights, original hardwood flooring, an extraordinary entry hall with paneled central staircase, 8 fireplaces and one of the few remaining ballrooms in Newport.
